Autumn 2012

Happy Fall everyone. The leaves in my yard are already falling and today looks like another beautiful day. Hopefully, the social networks will not explode with evil as we get closer and closer to the election. I for one, am focusing on what I can control. I'm excited about all of my music projects especially. I have several performances coming up at local festivals and I'm excited to be playing up in Helen, Georgia three weekends this October for Octoberfest! Woot. Additionally, I'm setting goals to have a few writing projects under way and look forward to sharing some of those with you soon as well. Independence!!!!!!!

Hey all, It's a time for us all to celebrate our INDEPENDENCE, in whatever form that takes for us all. For me, it's been about the music---I've been focused on writing and playing everywhere I can where people will listen. I have LOVED playing at Eddie Owen's new venue, Red Clay Theatre, for the Songwriter Showcase. I was lucky enough to play the first two weeks and will play next Monday night there as well. I've had wonderful opportunities to play all over town here in Atlanta and today am excited to venture out of state up to Nashville to play Jack Scott's Songwriter Showcase at the Hotel Indigo in Downtown Nashville. 3-26-2012 -----STREETFEST!

Streetfest 2012 was fantastic --awesome weather, awesome music, awesome crowd, awesome artistic displays. It was also my daughter's ninth birthday and she LOVED spending it at Streetfest.

Up next for me is a solo acoustic set at Caribou Coffee on April 6th, but I'll be out to the open mics between now and then.

3-8-12 My Life...it's gettin' busy!

First, thanks to everyone who helped make Marc Lawson's CD Release party so great!! It was awesome to see so many friends out and I'll post some pictures soon!

Now my big project for this month is my screenplay, My Life. It will have a partial reading at Blank Page Screenwriter's Group on March 20th! If anyone would like to read it, I'd love your feedback. :)

My music schedule is filling up too and I'm really excited about all of the shows and venues I have this Spring. I've got a handful of new songs that I just love to play.

3-6-12 Michelangelo

Today is Michelangelo's birthday -- perhaps he's sending out creative energy from the universe.

As I write this, I'm listening to Adele cover the Cure's "Lovesong"...LOVE IT. So, I'm going to cover Adele covering the Cure tonight. This is when covers are at their best, about a powerful song that you just have to play.

It's the same kind of feeling that pushes Creatives to do great stuff.

I'm utterly amazed at the energy of 2012 for all of my projects. My music calendar is full of great venues to play and my screenplay, My Life is scheduled to have a partial reading on 3/20 with a great group of actors. And...I just recently wrote a quirky poem about chartering a giraffe to the sea...who knows what will enter my brain next!

Tomorrow night, I'm so excited to help celebreate Marc Lawson's CD Release at Abbot's in John's Creek. His new EP, Another Night Alone is truly brilliant. And, we will have a cookie cake!

I hope all of you are enjoying 2012 too!

May the luck of the Irish shine on us all through the month, and I hope you feel a little Michelangelo today too!

It's looking like a busy spring--booking shows, writing songs, finishing up my screenplay to have a reading, and making new friends--can't wait to see what happens next.

So excited about my first solo show at Smith's Olde Bar in Atlanta tomorrow night. I'm going to play a handful of originals and then covers by female artists who have inspired me--Missy Higgins, Indigo Girls, Jewel, and more.
